I understand what you are saying and I would love to get a new computer but I wont be in the near future so I will just have to use it on 1280 x 768 and the photos appear to be correct at least it fills the whole screen I will inquire about a new video card. Thanks Liz

Hello D. Stenberg,

the riva tnt2 is very very old. You need to upgrade your video card.

There is a problem however: your PC can probably accept AGP video cards... but I would strongly suggest you get a PCI Express video card... which means upgrading your motherboard, CPU, RAM, etc...

In summary: to get the most out of your monitor, you will probably need to upgrade your whole computer (or get a new one!)

I have just purchased a Samsung Monitor 2333SW and although my video card says it is capable of resolution higher than 1920 x 1080 when I try to use it I have black on both sides of my monitor and the faces look long I am only a novice my card is NVIDIA Riva TNT2 Model 64/Model 64 Pro.Some one told me you can get a card that can screw into the motherboard and then enable you to connect the DVI cable will this be worthwhile? Or should I be getting an updated Video Card and if so which one Many Thanks Liz

You pose an interesting question. I would ask what type of video card you are using. Thanks for the post.
