refreshing every 4 seconds is probably a problem with your PC.

Possible causes are:

- infection (don’t necessarily trust your existing anti-virus / anti-spyware)
- a haywire IE7 addon (run ie7 in no-addon mode: start -> programs -> accessories -> system tools -> ie7 (NAO)… if it works well, then you need to gradually switch off IE7 addons (from ie7: tools -> internet options -> programs -> manage addons -> carefully disable addons until you find the culprit. Uninstall then reinstall the bad addon.

Howdy,
I’m having a similar annoying problem with ninemsn, Hotmail. I currently use Internet Explorer 7. When I log into my Hotmail emails I get into the incoming mail and then the page just starts refreshing every four seconds or so. It’s only happening on my PC but hotmail seems to be working fine on a notebook.

I actually hadn’t thought of google!

Its not quite what I’m after… but its very close. Its a very real alternative to other “newsy” portals.

It might not quite be what you’re after, but maybe google news will give you what you need without the avalanche of mutlimedia: news.google.com.au
